Our Story

Harry's Old Place Original Owners, Harry, Ginny and Bruce first opened their doors an 1980 as Harriston's. A move to a larger location resulted in the name change when the partners returned to the rustic building in Garden Grove in 1992.' When people would ask where the restaurant was, regulars would answer with, “It’s over at Harry’s old place.” And they ran with it. Since 1992, the iconic Winter Haven restaurant has been known as Harry’s Old Place.

“We’re famous for our fresh fish. We have more of it than anyone,” says Dwayne McQuillen, owner since 2017. Hospitality has always been a key ingredient in the making of Harry's Old Place. When you come to dine with us, we try to make you feel as if you are dining at our home. Because this is our home. And we want everyone to share what we have to offer. Harry’s Old Place has remained true to its Southern charm and laid-back, Mom-and-Pop feel. “All we’re trying to do is carry on that tradition,” says McQuillen.
